How to join St. Mary's

We are so glad you are here!  We are a Christian community, and we invite you to share the Christian Life with us.  We worship with one another regularly.  We minister to each other in times of joy and times of sorrow.  We enjoy fellowship together which deepens our bonds of affection and love.  We study and grow with one another, and we reach out to those in need with the Gospel and our lives.  Becoming a member of our community is done in four easy steps:

FIRST - INFORM US OF YOUR INTEREST

Please express your desire to join to any staff member either via this website or in person (in addition to the liturgies, our parish office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday).

SECOND - WORSHIP WITH US REGULARLY
Please join us for worship.  We celebrate the Mass (also known as the Holy Eucharist, the Divine Liturgy, Holy Communion and the Lord's Supper) two times on Sunday and once on Wednesday.  A time schedule is listed on the right hand side of this webpage.  Worship is central to our life as Christians.

THIRD - BECOME RECORDED IN OUR RECORDS
Please complete and return the Parish Information Form.  The information you provide is used to include you on our mailing list, record your birthday(s) and anniversary(ies) for the prayer list, and helps us connect you with parishioners who might share your personal interests.

FOURTH - OFFER YOUR PLEDGE TO BUILD THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Christian giving is inspired by gratitude to God for all that God does for us.  In other words, we give as a tangible act of thanksgiving, not to appease God or our neighbors.  Some traditions, including ours, consider the Biblical tithe of 10% of one's income to be a benchmark for giving.  At St. Mary's, our parishioners are encouraged after much prayer and self-examination to give a tithe of the heart which may indeed be less than or greater than 10%.  Whatever the initial figure, please know that the point of the exercise is deepen your faith journey with God, not the coffers of the parish.  We believe strongly that the depth of giving is reflective of the strength of the bond of love that ties us all together.  That's why authentic relationships come first at St. Mary's and, from our experience, this is why giving has been so strong within the parish.  When you feel the time is right, please complete the pledge card and return it to the parish office.  Your pledge is kept confidential within the office of the treasurer.

With these four steps, you have joined the parish.  Institutional benefits of membership include being listed in our parish directory and the right to vote at our Annual Meeting (if you are baptized and have joined the parish six months prior to the meeting).  We welcome you in our Christian Life together.  May God bless your journey with us, as God has blessed us with your presence.

Holy Baptism
The sacrament of Holy Baptism is full initiation into the catholic (or universal) Church of God, also known as the Body of Christ.  As a member of our parish, you will want to become baptized if you are not already.  Those who have been baptized by water in the name of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) may receive Communion at the Mass regardless of denomination of origin.  If you wish to become baptized, please contact the clergy.
